Test Drive a Tesla

Where can I start? I've had my traditional favorite luxury cars. My heart was set on purchasing a specific car until that one day when I saw a Tesla Model S. This car is so sleek, and up until a few weeks ago I thought it would be a while before I had the chance to get behind the wheel of one (only because the starting price is roughly 69K and up.)

However, I did sign up for their e-newsletter and I received an email to schedule a test drive. So on September 15, 2015 my test drive was scheduled and on the 17th I found myself in the driver's seat of my favorite car.

The experience was phenomenal. Going to the Tesla store (dealership) was interesting. It was almost like being in a spiffy electronic store and I was advised by Pedro, my Tesla expert, that all new cars are made to order. There is no inventory but there is the option to purchase used vehicles. The Tesla store was located inside a mall and the test drive cars were the parking garage. There is a mapped out test driving route near the mall that included local and highway roads. This car drives like a dream…a sporty eco friendly cool dream. The nice thing about the Tesla store is you can opt to test drive the Model S for educational purposes and it’s not like going to a pushy car sales place. Within 10 minutes of being there I was on my way to drive the car.
Moments after the test drive

I figured for now I will purchase the hot wheels model for myself and friends so that I can own a "Tesla." However, I await the day that I can say I’m a Tesla driver. There are more models coming out. The Model X SUV has had recent mention in the news and there are talks of a Model 3 being released which will be under the 40K mark.

So this blog is really about my experience. Honestly, I never gave driving dream cars a second thought until some financial monumental progress is obviously visible. I realized if I’m working towards my dreams why not take opportunities I can to live them? Work hard, dream big. I like the Tesla because it’s a cool electric car. I also want to run my own successful for profit and charitable organizations. I found that stepping out of my comfort zone and going for things that I desire is the best way that I will continue in a direction that will put me closer to my goals.

Have you ever had the opportunity to live a small portion of your dreams while you were in the developmental stages of your journey? Are you living your dreams and have advice for people working towards their goals? Do you own a Tesla and if so what do you like about it?

Costume: Easy DIY Devo Energy Dome Under $3

This (hat) energy dome is inspired by the 80ies band Devo's hit song, "Whip it". Devo Whip - Song If you are looking for a fun 80ies costume or you just really love Devo here is a great way to recreate the energy dome! The materials I used will be listed below. See my 30 second #DIY #Costume video here: I cut my shapes out free hand, but if you use a foam circle or measuring rulers the appearance can be fined tuned! Materials : Two red poster boards Tape ruler personal hat as a size reference ruler bobby pins apple red inside spray paint - "I took the hat out doors to spray it." Once the energy dome is complete grab a guitar (I used my Wii guitar hero controller), or any other instrument from the Whip It video. To secure the dome to your head you may need to affix a hair pin, wig clips, or cut a whole in the bottom to balance it.  *(caution: test all scenarios (clips/paint/glue) before wearing the dome to ensure comfort and no reactions)  This...

Backlog

I have a few topics to write about this month. I will list the topics below: in a taxi headed to Microsoft - charity beach photography project for children with autism - SQL Saturdays seminar at Microsoft in Manhattan - making gelato in NYC using a $20,000 culinary machine - preparing my 4th toastmaster speech - creating a supervisory guide regarding employee development and growth My goal is to write very detailed blogs on these topics this September. August was a month full of busy weekends, a few marketing projects and career growth projects. In regards to my supervisory guide, I plan to launch a independent research project on the subject which will include a test sample of at least 100 corporate professionals. To date this project is currently an eight page document which includes topics on personal performance analysis, cross training, and improving self efficacy. Hopefully by the end of this week a well written agenda will accommodate my efforts towards completing ...

Best Costumes 2015? Wear Costumes All Year!

Are costumes just for October? I think not! I love costumes and I think dressing up is tons of fun. I've recently took an active approach towards creating my own photography business. I realized there are little things you can do to differentiate/add value to your business. "Elvis" and Val in Vegas 2015 One way is your style of dress. Clean and professional appearances are essential for business, but what about when you are working with a younger audience or a themed party? What if an option for one of your service provides (Photographer/DJ) showed up at your child's superhero themed party as their archenemy? Maybe even their counterparts? I've seen how costumes even generate smiles on adults when I visited Fremont Street in Las Vegas Nevada. Impersonators were everywhere and everyone wanted to take pictures with them...I did too. I also attended the Evo gaming tournament and cosplay was very popular their too. So don't let October be the only time y...
